Safeguarding policy

This institutional safeguarding policy sets out IIED’s approach to safeguarding and preventing and addressing all forms of abuse, exploitation and harassment, including sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. The policy sets out the requirements for IIED employees and all related personnel to prevent, respond to and report harm, ensuring effective and appropriate action is taken when issues arise.

The purpose of this policy is to protect all people, particularly children, at risk adults, and programme participants from any harm. IIED will not tolerate its employees or related personnel carrying out – or being subject to – any form of harassment, exploitation or abuse. This includes all forms of harm arising from the conduct of IIED employees and related personnel, and the design and implementation of IIED’s programmes and activities.
