Talent and organisational development manager

IIED is seeking a talent and organisational development manager to develop and implement organisational level resource planning to encourage a proactive and flexible approach to attracting and retaining talent.

Applicants will need experience in talent development and management, including learning and development, performance management, succession planning and skills evaluation.

IT manager

IIED is looking for an IT manager to join our operations team, where the postholder will be at the forefront of protecting our vital research and data, while supporting people on a global basis to thrive through your expertise.

The successful applicant will be an experienced IT professional with leadership, strategic and cyber security experience.

Office coordinator (Edinburgh)

IIED is looking for an office coordinator to assist with the smooth running of our Edinburgh office and support the facilities and operations team.

Applicants will need experience in a similar service and administration and/or office support-orientated role, experience providing support to financial administration processes, and the ability to set up, implement and maintain office systems.

Office coordinator (London)

IIED is looking for an office coordinator to join our Finance and Operations Team in London. This is a full-time contract until 20th December 2024 (with a possible extension for further 12 months).

Applicants will need experience in building- or facilities-management, good IT knowledge and a great grasp of customer care.

Scientific advisor to the IPCC chair

IIED is seeking a scientific advisor to the chair of the Intergovenmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) to join our team on a full-time basis for a four-year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension over the life of the IPCC Seventh Assessment Cycle (planned for 5-7 years).

Applicants will need a PhD in a discipline relevant to climate change, climate action and/or development or equivalent experience in climate science, along with experience and recognised achievement in a field highly relevant to climate change. The deadline for applications is 30 May 2024.

Head of learning and knowledge management - LIFE-AR

IIED is looking for a head of learning and knowledge management to work with our Climate Change research group on the Least Developed Counties Initiative for Effective Adaptation and Resilience (LIFE-AR). This is a full-time, two-year fixed-term contract.

The successful applicant will be an expert on learning and knowledge management and have worked with multi-stakeholder platforms, and will have a working knowledge of French. The deadline for applications is 30 May 2024.

Gender equality and social inclusion advisor- LIFE-AR

IIED is also seeking a gender equality and social inclusion advisor to work with LIFE-AR. This is a full-time, two-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants will need practical work experience in gender equality and social inclusion issues, and knowledge of current debates on gender and climate change adaptation, along with degree in relevant subject or suitable experience. The deadline for applications is 30 May 2024.

Monitoring, evaluation and learning officer (IIED Europe)

IIED Europe is hiring a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) officer, who will support the MEL manager in delivering projects implemented by IIED Europe, particularly the Horizon Europe project Pathways2Resilience.

The successful candidate will have experience of designing and implementing qualitative (and quantitative) MEL and research approaches in the field of climate adaptation, along with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels, partners from different backgrounds and cultures, external bodies and the general public.

Technical support and research officer

IIED is looking for a technical support and research officer to work on the 'Scaling up equitable governance' project, supporting our NGO partners in Nepal, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar and Bolivia. This is a hybrid role, within or outside of UK.

Applicants will need to have excellent understanding of issues related to equity, governance, Indigenous Peoples and local communities,  and rights-based approaches in conservation and natural resource management.
