October 2023 – Ahead of World Cities Day, IIED's urban team highlighted an event exploring lessons from the pandemic relief efforts in two large Indian cities and four informal settlements in Zimbabwe, a related podcast episode and a new issue of Environment & Urbanization on urbanisation and economic development
March 2023 – On 16 March, IIED’s Environment & Urbanization Better Cities Day will bring together researchers, policy influencers and practitioners to discuss and share insights on current and future trends in urban development
December 2022 – The 'Protracted Displacement in an Urban World' project released key findings at the 'Cities for Refugees' event in Geneva. This was complemented by the release of an IIED blog on refugee wellbeing and a briefing on the benefits of including displaced people in city planning
October 2022 – The launch of the special issue of Environment and Urbanization (E&U) brings together papers that share original research, practices, and reflections about the construction of pathways towards urban equality. This will coincide with an IIED Debates online event
