Conference of the Parties (COP) 27

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) binds over 190 countries to work together to tackle climate change. Each year the parties to the convention meet to review progress. COP27 took place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from 6-18 November, 2022. IIED's key areas of focus will be debt relief for climate and nature, locally led adaptation and finance, and supporting negotiators from the least developed countries.
