The UN’s Open Working Group (OWG) proposed draft sustainable development goals (SDGs) in July 2014.

It is the purpose of this report to integrate the perspectives, priorities and experiences from Latin America and the Caribbean in helping to ensure that the goals gain the right contribution from forests while optimally fostering their sustainability. The report assesses the OWG zero draft and proposes introducing an approach which, if adopted, could ensure that the goals gain the right contribution from forests while optimally fostering their sustainability.
