A series of insights raising the profile of locally-led action on the road to and after the COP15 global biodiversity conference
Ahead of and after the 15th Conference of Parties (COP15) for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), this series of insights sees IIED work with local partners to showcase the role of locally-led solutions in halting and reversing our current catastrophic loss of biodiversity.
During a critical year for biodiversity, it's vital to highlight locally-led approaches that can deliver real solutions.
The conference was originally due to take place in Kunming, China, but the second phase was held in Montreal, Canada from 7-19 December 2022, with China remaining as president.
This series sees IIED staff and guest experts explore not just why locally-led action is critical to delivering the global biodiversity framework, but how these solutions are already making change happen on the ground. We expect to publish one insight a month.
