We are an independent policy research organisation based in the UK and active in five continents through an extended network of partners. And as a growing organisation, we are often on the lookout for professional and creative people with a passion for our mission. Find out more about IIED.

The institute is seeking two trustees, one a Chinese national based in country, and one an African academic based in Sub-Saharan Africa, who have extensive experience of working in the field of international environment and development.

The ideal candidate is someone with wide ranging strategic experience at board level who has ideally fulfilled a trustee role in a not-for-profit organisation. The trustee will have a very good understanding of IIED's business, will be able to clearly articulate our mission and values, and demonstrate what and how they can contribute towards steering the organisation through the challenges ahead.

The deadline for applications is 5pm (BST) on Friday, 24 March 2017. People wishing to nominate other individuals are invited to submit a covering letter to liz.aspden@iied.org in support of their nominee by 5pm on Friday, 24 March 2017 (GMT). The nominations sub-committee will decide whether to approach the nominee and invite them to apply.

Meanwhile, the Green Economy Coalition (GEC), which is a network of more than 50 collaborating organisations, with a secretariat hosted by IIED and based in the Shaping Sustainable Markets research group, is recruiting for three positions. The GEC works to support dialogue, exchange and adoption of policy on the green economy. It has an ambitious three-year strategy, a secure funding pipeline and a series of new projects around natural capital and national dialogues, and is looking to expand.

It is seeking a programme director to develop, lead and manage two global green economy programmes: on national dialogues (currently active in seven countries) and on natural capital. To succeed in this role applicants will have substantial experience with international policy frameworks, agreements and initiatives addressing the green economy.

The GEC is also recruiting a project manager to oversee GEC projects: keeeping its funding model up to date, managing the inputs of a range of partners and coordinating, and planning and controlling a portfolio of projects simultaneously.

Finally, the GEC is seeking a marketing and communications assistant to work closely with the programme manager to deliver an ambitious communications strategy. The deadline for applications is 4pm on Wednesday, 1 March 2017 (GMT).
