Chris works across the green economy agenda on cross-cutting policy analysis, building innovative measurement tools and communicating progress on inclusive economic transitions. He is technical and policy lead on many of the GEC’s tools, platforms, and outputs.

His research expertise is based around the policies needed for green economic transitions – economic governance, macroeconomic policy, multilateral frameworks, MSME support mechanisms, inclusive policy design and cost-benefit analysis approaches.

He is also interested in emerging precautionary and beyond-GDP governance approaches, wealth accounts, and normative aspects of environmental governance (discount rate choice, climate justice, deliberative democracy).

Current work

Lead the GEC’s work on the Green Economy Tracker policy tool, and provides economic policy guidance in support of the coalition’s work on a green COVID-19 recovery, green economy dialogues, natural capital approaches, green social movements and MSME support policies.
