The Green Economy Coalition (GEC) is a network of more than 50 collaborating organisations, with a secretariat hosted by IIED and based in the Shaping Sustainable Markets research group. The GEC works to support dialogue, exchange and adoption of policy on green economy. 

The GEC has an ambitious three-year strategy, a secure funding pipeline and a series of new projects around natural capital and national dialogues, and is looking to expand with the recruitment of a marketing and communications assistant.

The marketing and communications assistant will work very closely with the programme manager to deliver an ambitious communications strategy. We are looking for someone with an eye for a story and a headline; someone who has their finger on the pulse of digital marketing and technology; someone who can write high quality copy for a range of audiences and manage the publication process; and someone who, above all, is enthused by the challenge of communicating a new economy to a range of target audiences.

To succeed in this role applicants will have experience in writing and editing content for both print and online media, and have experience of engaging in social media. You will have very good writing skills and an ability to write for different audiences and communications channels. You will be highly organised, have good interpersonal skills and enjoy a fast-paced working environment.
